Welcome! If you’re pregnant or wanting to pray along with an expecting friend or family member, you’re in the right place. Pray along with us as we cover developmental milestones, scripture and prayers for each week of pregnancy.
Week 11
During week 11 of pregnancy, your child is the size of a brussels sprout. Your baby has officially left the embryonic stage of development and has entered the fetal period, which will last until birth. Even though you don’t feel it yet, your little one is actively moving and notices your touch. Your baby’s organs, such as the heart, liver and kidneys, are already in place and functioning.
As you are nearing the end of the first trimester, your body is pumping about 50% more blood than it typically does. Oxygen and nutrients from your blood flow through your umbilical cord to provide for your baby. This can potentially make you hot, dizzy or tired. Take a moment to listen to your body and rest when you feel the need.
Scripture: Colossians 3:20-21
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
Prayer: Relationship with your Child
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the opportunity to come to You directly and regularly. Thank You for your listening ear and for providing wisdom in Your Word.
Lord, I wouldn’t be where I am today without Your grace, Your mercy, and Your never ending love. I hold my relationship with You above everything else.
Today I pray for my future relationship with my child.
As my baby grows up, please help us to express our love and communicate well.
Throughout the years help us to show honor and respect towards one another.
Help me as a parent to know when to lead and to know when to let my child take the reigns.
Lord, I know I may fail and fall short. No one is perfect, although I strive to be. In those moments when I do fail in communicating with my child, I pray that he or she seeks You. Help me to guide my little one in knowing that he or she can forever and always cling to Your unfailing love, grace and truth.
In Your name I pray,
Amen.
