Welcome! If you’re pregnant or wanting to pray along with an expecting friend or family member, you’re in the right place. Pray along with us as we cover developmental milestones, scripture and prayers for each week of pregnancy.
Week 14
During week 14 of pregnancy, your child is the size of a nectarine. Your little one is continuing to grow, and his or her body is covered with soft hairs, called lanugo, which help provide warmth. Your baby is growing fast and has doubled in length from last week to this week.
The beginning of the second trimester is when many expecting mommas begin to really start showing a baby bump. No matter how big or small your baby is, remember you are beautiful just the way you are! If you haven’t already, now may be a good time to go maternity clothes shopping to get some comfortable wardrobe additions, as your body will be going through major changes over the next several months.
Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
Prayer: Resilience
Father God,
You are the maker of time and have created time for all things.
This life is filled with times of calm and times of chaos, times of victory and times of defeat.
Thank You for meeting us where we are at our highest highs and our lowest lows.
Lord, I pray for my sweet baby today. Thank You for bringing this beautiful blessing into my life.
As I think ahead to my little one’s life, I know he or she will face many of the same challenges that I have, and perhaps even more. As he or she navigates the ups and downs of life, I pray for my baby to have resilience. Through the trials and hardships he or she may encounter, I pray my child clings to You, God, and understands there is a season for everything on earth.
May my child use the hard seasons as a way to draw closer to Jesus.
Amen.
