Praying Through Pregnancy - Week 27

Praying Through Pregnancy - Week 27

Welcome! If you’re pregnant or want to pray along with an expecting friend or family member, you’re in the right place. Pray along with us as we cover developmental milestones, scripture, and prayers for each week of pregnancy.

Week 27

Welcome to your third trimester! During week 27 of pregnancy, your child is the size of a cauliflower. Your baby’s senses are becoming sharper, and his or her tiny body growing stronger with each passing day. Your little one’s eyelashes are now formed, delicate, and wispy, waiting to flutter open to the world when the time is right.

As your baby continues to grow, his or her delicate skin, once translucent, now gains a touch of color as blood vessels multiply beneath the surface. It is a reminder of the remarkable life force flowing through their veins, coursing with energy and vitality.

You’re in the final stretch of pregnancy. As the arrival of your baby draws closer, spend time in prayer to our Lord of peace to calm any qualms or anxieties you may have.

Scripture: 1 Peter 5:6-7

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Prayer: Calm

Heavenly Father,

As I enter this third trimester, a significant milestone of pregnancy, I find solace and strength in Your Word. In 1 Peter 5:6-7, You remind me to humble myself under Your mighty hand, casting all my anxieties upon You, for You care for me. Lord, I lay before You my worries, fears, and uncertainties about childbirth and the journey ahead with a growing family. I surrender them all to You, knowing that Your love and care extend to every aspect of my life.

Father, I pray that You calm the fears that can sometimes cloud my heart. Grant me a spirit of peace that surpasses all understanding, allowing me to embrace each day of this pregnancy with joy and anticipation. Help me to trust in Your perfect plan and timing, knowing that You are by my side every step of the way.

As I prepare to bring this precious child into the world, I ask for Your divine guidance and protection. Fill me with wisdom and discernment as I make decisions regarding the well-being of my unborn baby and the choices that lie ahead. Surround me with a community of supportive loved ones who will walk alongside me, offering their prayers, encouragement, and practical help.

Lord, as I reflect on the journey of motherhood that lies ahead, I pray for Your grace and strength to embrace the challenges and joys it brings. Help me to be a nurturing and loving mother, guided by Your example. Grant me patience, wisdom, and compassion as I navigate the beautiful chaos of raising a child, and may my words and actions reflect Your love and grace.

Above all, Heavenly Father, I thank You for the immeasurable love You have bestowed upon me and my child. Thank You for knitting this little one together in my womb and for the plans You have for their life. May they grow to know and love You, Lord, and may Your presence be a constant source of comfort and guidance in their journey.

In Your name, I pray,

Amen.
