Praying Through Your Pregnancy - Week 5

Praying Through Your Pregnancy - Week 5

Welcome! If you’re pregnant or wanting to pray along with an expecting friend or family member, you’re in the right place. Pray along with us as we cover developmental milestones, scripture and prayers for each week of pregnancy.

Week 5

During week 5 of pregnancy, your child is the size of an apple seed. Your little one is developing at a rapid pace and is already beginning to form major organs including the brain, heart, lungs and gut.

Early pregnancy symptoms may start to occur such as fatigue, spotting, morning sickness or food aversions. Once you learn that you’re pregnant, it’s a good idea to cut back on your caffeine and to take a prenatal vitamin recommended by your doctor. Folic acid in prenatal vitamins help reduce the baby’s risk of developing birth defects.

Scripture: Psalm 113:9
He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord.

Prayer: Give Thanks
Dear Heavenly Father,
I give thanks to You for blessing me with this child! I’m so full of love, hope and excitement for what You have in store for our family. Thank you.
I give my pregnancy over to You! I pray You will be there with me every step of the way to comfort and encourage me. Help prepare me for motherhood. I want more than anything to show Your love and grace to my child and family.
Lord, I commit myself, my family and this newest precious baby to You, and I praise You for all that I’ve been given.
Amen.
